Brunch event & omelette competition at Garvie & Co / Evento: brunch y competition de tortillas en Garvie & Co

Few weeks ago I was lucky enough to come along to the brunch event organized by Yelp at Garvie & Co in Milngavie (just outsite Glasgow).

The brunch event was one of the coolest events I´ve attended here in Glasgow.


 

The restaurant it’s gorgeous, really modern design and furniture and super cozy. The staff was very attentive during the whole morning and really helpful and charming.

Hace unas semanas tuve la suerte de ser invitada a un evento que organizo Yelp en el restaturante Garvie & Co, en Milngavie (muy cerca de Glasgow) y donde celebraron un brunch.

Este evento ha sido sin duda unos de los mejores a los que he asistido aquí en Glasgow. El restaurante era precioso, super bonito decorado y muy acogedor, y el personal estuvo muy atento y encantador.

When we arrived we were divided in two tables and we asked to create our ideal brunch course, we had to write it (describing ingredients and way to cook) and a draw it! It was really funny, and what was the prize? The winner´s course would be included on the brunch menu! Here you can see mine! 

Cuando llegamos nos dividieron en 2 mesas y nos pidieron que crearamos nuestros plato ideal para un brunch, teniamos que describir cómo hacerlo, que ingredientes necesitaba y dibujarlo! Fue super divertido y además el premio era que el plato ganador entraria a formar parte de la carta del restaurante!!  Aqui podeis mi plato!

After that we ordered the courses along the actual brunch menu, in my case I chose scrambled eggs and smoked salmon on toasts and it was delicious, and my boyfriend eggs benedict (I tried them too and were super tasty)! And we also had a taste of their homemade smoothies: green juice & berry, homemade, fresh and delicious, but the berry one was my favourite!

Despues pedimos nuestro brunch a elegir entre la carta, yo me pedi los huevos revueltos con salmon, estaba riquisimo, Carlos pidio los huevos benedictinos que también y me encantaron. Además de las bebidas que elegimos cada uno, nos sirvieron sus zumos naturales caseros el verde (con ingredientes como el pepino) y el de rosa a base de bayas. Mi favorito el rosa!

After that the staff at Garvie & Co had another competition for us, it was a Saturday Kitchen style omelette cooking competition, we had to cook the omelettes in the least time as possible, mine was 1:42, not so bad! It was super fun!

Por si todo eso fuera poco, el equipo de Garvie  & Co, tenia preparada otra competición para nosotros, y era hacer una competición de preparación de tortillas francesas en el menor tiempo posible!! Madre mia que presión! Yo tarde 1:42 no esta mal no? Y la verdad que fue genial y lo pase estupendamente!

And apart from that we were treated with goody bags with few slides of their cakes (brownie, carrot cake…) I can´t choose only one!

Y para terminar nos obsequiaron con un detalle, una cajita con varios trozos de sus variedades de postres (brownie, tarta de zahoria...) imposible quedarme con uno!
